Ferrosco Industries is one of Tamil Nadu's primary integrated steel manufacturers. Starting from sponge iron as our core raw material, we produce Fe 550D grade TMT bars entirely in-house — from billet casting to Thermex quenching — at our Tirunelveli facility, IS 1786:2008 BIS-certified.
Tusker TMT 550D is manufactured at a state-of-the-art integrated facility in Tirunelveli — with German Thermex technology, Bruker spectrometer chemistry control, and in-house billet production. Every property below is the result of process discipline, not just certification.
Fe 550D CRS grade with copper-bearing chemistry delivers 2–3× superior corrosion resistance over standard TMT. Tighter sulphur and phosphorus limits mean fewer corrosion initiation sites — critical for coastal Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
The 'D' in Fe 550D mandates ≥ 16% elongation — twice that of standard Fe 415. The soft ferrite-pearlite core produced by Thermex quenching allows bars to bend sharply at column junctions and stirrup bends without cracking or losing section.
Carbon equivalent ≤ 0.42 — no pre-heating or special electrodes required. Tusker TMT 550D welds cleanly on-site without risk of hydrogen-induced cracking, reducing fabrication time and ensuring full structural continuity at joints.
12 MT induction furnace, German Thermex quench system, and Bruker optical emission spectrometer for heat-level chemistry analysis. The same class of machinery as SAIL, Tata, and JSW — with the focused output of an owner-driven plant.
Minimum yield strength of 560 N/mm² and minimum tensile strength of 610 N/mm² — consistently exceeding BIS IS 1786:2008 requirements. Verified by third-party CTAL testing and batch-specific mill test certificates.
