Ferrosco Industries Pvt Ltd is the manufacturing force behind Tusker TMT 550D — South India's most trusted Fe 550D grade TMT bar. We are not a trader. We are not a re-roller buying billets from the open market. We are a primary integrated manufacturer — producing every bar from raw material to finished product, entirely under one roof.

Starting from sponge iron as our core raw material, our plant in Palavoor, Tirunelveli runs a seamless chain: induction furnace steelmaking → continuous casting of billets → hot rolling mill → Thermex quenching → quality testing → dispatch. No outsourced billets. No mystery chemistry. Every bar is 100% traceable from raw earth to your construction site.

Equipped with the same class of advanced machinery used by industry leaders, our plant is capable of producing 12,000 MT per month — with BIS certification under IS 1786:2008, IS 15911:2010, and IS 14650:2023.

How Your Bar is Made

From Sponge Iron to Your Construction Site

Every Tusker TMT 550D bar passes through six tightly controlled stages — all inside our Palavoor plant. This is what integrated manufacturing looks like.

Sponge Iron — Our Primary Raw Material

Unlike re-rollers who buy billets from whoever is cheapest, we start with sponge iron — a controlled, primary steel-making raw material. This is the foundation of consistent chemistry and superior quality in every bar we produce.

Induction Furnace Steelmaking — 12 MT Capacity

Our high-capacity induction furnace melts the sponge iron into molten steel with precise chemistry. Every heat is controlled and verified before casting — no shortcuts, no compromises on composition.

Continuous Casting Machine — In-House Billets

Molten steel is cast into billets using our in-house Continuous Casting Machine (CCM). Our billets are BIS certified under IS 15911:2010 — they are not purchased from third parties. This is the critical difference between a manufacturer and a trader.

Hot Charging & Rolling Mill

Billets are hot-charged into the reheating furnace and then shaped by our Rana Udyog precision rolling mill. Each pass through the mill brings the bar to its exact cross-section — consistent diameter, consistent rib geometry, every time.

Thermex Quenching — The Heart of Tusker's Strength

Immediately after rolling, bars pass through our German-origin Thermex quench box. The rapid water quench creates a hardened martensite outer ring with a tough, ductile ferrite-pearlite core — delivering the superior strength-to-ductility ratio that makes Tusker TMT 550D the preferred choice for demanding structures.

Quality Testing, Tagging & Dispatch

Every batch undergoes mechanical testing (yield, UTS, elongation) on our 100MT Universal Testing Machine and chemical analysis on our Bruker Spectrometer. Bars are then cut to specification, bundled, tagged with our ISI-marked Tusker TMT brand sticker, and dispatched with full test certificates.
